How to Record for Virtual Choir
What is a Virtual Choir
A virtual Choir is a consolidation of Choral singer in a virtual space. The singers could be geographically dispersed and the voices are brought together and mixed at a central point using sound editing / mixing softwares.Participants of the Choir would record their portion of the song and send it to the sound editing team. A video of the person singing will also be sent to make music videos of the Virtual Choir. All of the portions are edited and mixed together to gain harmony, eventually making it a virtual choral singing performance.
An example of a Virtual Choir performance can be seen as below

How to Record Video for a Virtual Choir
- Try to frame your video as per the below picture - This is a guideline to follow.
- Just like a Choir uniformity is important
- The best option is to set up the phone / camera on a flat surface where you get a good frame like that of the below picture. (ideally don't depend on shaky hands)
- Make sure that the background is of a solid colour, preferably a wall.
- Record the whole part, the videos focus is more on the lip movement rather than how well you are singing. Expressions bring more beauty to the video.
- After recording the video, send the video over Whatsapp to the Choir Master.
- If not whatsapp, other options like Google Drive or Drop box could also be used to retain the video quality (for the moment this could be considered as an option and not necessary)
